Privacy Policy

AwayWeek is an independent U.S. travel publication. When configured, affiliate reporting records the booking-link identifier, click time, source pathname, and referring website origin. New click records do not store IP hashes, browser user-agent strings, or query strings. Hosting providers such as Cloudflare process request and security information to deliver and protect the site. Do not include sensitive personal information in publication searches or contact messages.

Google Analytics

We use Google Analytics to understand page views, traffic sources, approximate location, device and browser information, and engagement with our travel content. Google processes this information to provide website measurement. Cloudflare’s country-level location determines whether to request consent: visitors in the European Economic Area, UK, and Switzerland must opt in before Analytics loads. U.S. visitors can opt out through “Cookie preferences” in the footer. Other or unknown locations stay untracked unless you opt in. We do not enable Google Signals or advertising personalization through this Analytics tag, and we honor Global Privacy Control by disabling analytics.

Advertising

We have registered AwayWeek with Google AdSense for potential advertising. Site verification alone does not show ads or load advertising cookies. When advertising is enabled, Google and its partners may process cookie identifiers, device information, IP addresses, and ad interactions to deliver and measure ads, subject to the consent choices presented to you.

Your choices and requests

Use “Cookie preferences” in the footer to allow or reject analytics. You may contact us to request access, correction, or deletion of information you have provided, or to exercise rights available under applicable law. We may need enough information to verify and fulfill your request. We do not require a reader account, collect payments, or operate a newsletter signup. If you email us, we receive your address and message and use them to respond.

Providers, retention, and other sites

Cloudflare provides hosting and security, Google provides optional analytics, and our database provider stores editorial and configured affiliate-reporting data. Their processing may take place outside your country. We retain information for the purposes described here, operational needs, and applicable legal obligations; contact us about a specific record or deletion request. External booking websites have their own privacy policies and receive information when you follow their links. This policy will be updated when our data practices change.
